I'm leaving Riga, Latvia tonight on Eurolines and will be arriving in Warsaw tommorow morning. However, I'm actually heading to Kraków. What's the best way to get from Warsaw to Kraków? I assume it's train? I will be arriving into the Warsaw Zahodnyi (West) and I know this is not the central station - can I leave from this same station & if not, how do I get from the west station to the central station?

Thank you!

p.s. any recomendations on where to go from Krakow? I am thinking of going to Romania and/or Hungary.

Bunny Slugs on a Mug

Oh noes, they're gonna steal my cappuccino!

Bunny Slug on a Mug

A postcard I painted for my Uncle Alan.  It's going out in the mail tomorrow.  Windsor Newton watercolors plus a Micron 1.0, Miffy colored (and scented!) gel pens, and the white Uni-ball Signo UM-153 that [info]mshepley recommended -- it really does work just as well as she said!

Pain relief for pregnant women.

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Hi everyone.

My friend is almost 15 weeks pregnant. She's taking medication for nausea which is helping, but it's giving her pretty bad headaches. Are there any pain relievers approved for pregnant women other than tylenol because she says it's not helping.

Thank you for any insight you can provide. If it weren't so late I would suggest to her she call her OBGYN.

sore nipples

  • Jul. 19th, 2008 at 12:03 AM
For the past couple days my nipples have been very sore. I think it is PMS as I have not done any rough play and I am not breastfeeding, but I was hoping some of you might have suggestions on how to relieve this extreme discomfort. I have tried wearing a sport bra and that didn't help. Then I wore one of my most comfortable bras and that didn't help. Anything that brushes against them hurts.
Help.
Thanks.

Mamma Mia!

  • Jul. 19th, 2008 at 12:26 AM
I saw Mamma Mia! with my mom, sister, and friend Steph tonight. It was sooo good! Meryl Streep is just so, so great. And Pierce Brosnan. Hubba hubba!

Highly recommended to anyone who loves a good musical (or ABBA!)

I took some advice from friends on my list, and my swelling has gone down. Engagement ring is back on my ring finger. It was funny, though... when I called Matt to tell him, "Oops. Ring won't fit. Guess we're not engaged anymore!" He said, "Oh, in that case, I gotta go!" Dork. :P

Experiencing some bad back pain tonight and the second headache I've had since I got pregnant. I think I can get away with not taking anything for it, though. I may just need some rest.

Had a wonderful time with Stephanie this week, and we're saying goodbye tomorrow. One of the great things I'll have to look forward to if/when I move out West will be being close to Stephanie (she's in Edmonton.) We can mourn the loss of the ocean together. (She took pictures of water all week, like a tourist, even though she lived here for 10+ years.)

Thesis and final report writing to work on this weekend (which means, of course, I'll be around on LJ a lot!)

33 weeks today! Holy crap!

Lady Cup; size issue

  • Jul. 19th, 2008 at 3:31 AM
Hi, this is my first post on livejournal.
I've got my Lady Cup yesterday and tried it.

I feel so much better than mooncup(UK) which I used a few times.
I love the softness and flexibility of LadyCup.
However there is one thing I want to make sure.
Yes, it's about the size.

I'm 31, no children. skinny asian woman.
I chose Large.

It was not so difficult to insert Large cup but I feel that
the LadyCup is still folded in vagina.

I tried to make the LadyCup to open(make a circle around the cup) with my point finger
but still it's folded.
When I removed it, it came out with folded(closed) style...
What do you think, ladies?
I think I should've gotten Small one...
Or small one from another brand?

I would really appreciate if you could leave your opinions.
Thank you.

Hola,

I'm traveling to Ecuador for a month and I was wondering if any of ya'll have been and could share a little insight that goes a little further than the Rough Guides. I'm planning on staying around Guayaquil, Quito, Tena, Ibarra.. etc. Don't have the dough to go to Galapagos, unfortunately. Another time. Anything cool to do around Quito, Guayaquil? Some interesting places off the beaten path? Any thoughts please share. Thanks!

Skipping period with pill-- practice run?

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Next month I want to skip my period; I'll be on vacation then and our anniversary falls during then too (it did last year as well and I refuse to let it happen again this year!).

Would it be better for me to also skip my period this month and let my body get used to the skipping, and will that make me less likely to have any breakthrough bleeding next month, or does it not work that way and I should just skip next month as planned?

I'm not gonna lie, this makes me slightly nervous--I like to have my period each month so I know I'm not pregnant! And I'm somewhat nervous that skipping will give me weird symptoms the next time around and I'll get paranoid. But it still beats dealing with my damn period when I'm on vacation at the beach with a bunch of the boi's relatives. (I'm also somewhat nervous because the lady at the pharmacy told me my insurance will only pay for one month's pills at a time, and I'm afraid if I skip my period then I'll have to go in a week earlier to get my next pack and I'm afraid they won't pay. I know that sounds dumb but my insurance doesn't seem to like to pay for shit so it wouldn't surprise me if they did this.)

Overdosing on Birth Control

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 10:31 PM
I'm usually very good about taking my birth control (Yasmin) like clockwork as soon as I get up in the morning. I've been away at a conference this week which has kept me busy and I'm exhausted!!! Well today I guess I took my Friday pill today then somehow in the midst of running from session to session and being dog tired I must have thought I forgot to take it..TWICE. I'm riffling through my bags and stuff just a second ago and randomly look at my pill pack and see that the Saturday and Sunday pills are both gone!
I don't even remember taking the Friday pill this morning. I know I popped a pill thinking I had forgotten to take it during my morning session and to be honest I have no clue when I took that second Sunday pill. I guess I was just on autopilot and so three pills are now in my system in a period of 24 hours :(
I'm very worried. I have no choice but to wait till Monday to take my next pill but three in one day is a lot. Has anyone ever taken an 'overdose' of birth control pills and if so what happened. I feel like I'm already starting to have a psychosomatic response as the knowledge of my 'pill overdose' has resulted in a headache and nausea. Help!

because i find these types of posts very inspiring and helpful, i thought i would share my own experience switching from the diva to the mooncup uk. although i haven't full on started my period, i have not leaked once, which is dramatically different from the diva. even on my lightest days i was leaking. the mooncup uk is by far a million times more comfortable for me... and i am sooooo happy i made the switch! thank you everyone here for the encouragement! this is such a great community!

Hair removal in tricky places

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 9:45 PM
I'm someone who prefers absolutely no body hair except my arms. I've always shaved "down there" with good results, however I am wanting to get rid of ahem.. but crack hair for lack of better term. I find it impossible to get in there with a razor. Is my only option a brazillian? I assume Nair would burn the crap (no pun intended) out of a delicate area like that. Smaller razor? Any tips?

Kittens @ 2 Weeks, 6 Days, 21 Hours

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 6:25 PM
Pictures under the cut.  They finally look like kittens, instead of caterpillars with tails.  No names for any of them yet -- I haven't been able to get a good feel for their individual personalities.  Right now, we call the Siamese-looking one "Stub-Tail" and one of the females "Little Big Eyes", but I can assure you, those names are not permanent. ;)  We did name the mom Penelope.  We call her Penny for short.

Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest -- the lighting in the bathroom really sucks.

okay so

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 8:39 PM
i recently hooked up with a girl for the first time. we didn't use protection... i know... i know.

anyways, i was wondering HOW risky you think it is to have oral sex and mutually use a vibrator? and how long should i wait before i go to get tested for STDs? i know i didn't have anything because i've been tested in the last year, and she says she has too,... but i just want to get tested because i'm getting paranoid.

Mirena and Topamax?

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 8:15 PM
I have a question that I'm hoping someone here has run up against. My neurologist, who currently is serving as my demi-god, has put me on Topamax for my migraines. It's working fairly well, but from past experience, I know that it's worked better at higher doses. Unfortunately, those higher doses were before I had to worry about pesky things like birth control.

Is anyone here using the Mirena and taking Topamax? How high of a dose has your doctor been willing to put you on? My doctor's wary of anything higher than 150 mg, although 200 mg has worked far better for my headaches in the past. I'm currently scouring the internet for something that will help me convince him to bump up the dosage, but I thought I'd try you lovelies first.

the Insteads conversation

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 4:44 PM
So my DH is rather squeamish about sex during the period, and I don't blame him I was too. However, due to the amount of business travel he has, I've begun to open my mind a bit to alternatives so as to take advantage of whenever he's home, regardless of what time of the month it is. So I was rather happy to be learning about Insteads (our shower isn't very large)and got a box and am ready to try them! So... any tips on how to approach the DH with this? He's accepted my Diva usage, albeit thinks its a bit odd, but then again its a woman thing and I would know best. But... I don't know how he'd take this and I'd like to give it the best possible go right out of the gate. Suggestions ladies?

Itching? Itch. Itching, Itchness.

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 4:23 PM
About two months ago, I thought I was going to die of itchiness. I mean, I itched so bad, it burned. But since I was on vacation with my parents (who think I don't have sex), I couldn't do much but used a cream here and there specifically for that job. It was gone after 3 days. Like it never happened. Hmm...

Now it seems to happen in a ticklish form inside the labia area. Sometimes after sex. I know shaving makes it go away most of the time. I'm currently taking antibiotics for UTI, so having a strong smell should be normal right now. Any other time, I'm normal with discharges and smells except for this itchy annoyance. I got myself checked pretty close to the time it started and the PAP came up positive. But in terms of vaginitis (because I get eeeeverything checked), they all came back negative.

So...is this ticklish sorta itching normal? I say this because I'm pretty sure my mother doesn't itch as much as I do. But I'm a yogurt eating, exercising, try to have safe sex...paranoid kid. I got a few logical reasonings (soap, dry sex, maybe the oral sex?, hair) but honestly! What was going on a few months ago and how much itching is too much itching?

Pain during sex?

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 5:38 PM
Recently I have begun to feel a lot of irritation and pain when having sex. During sex the inside of my vagina feels extremely sore and it hurts to be penetrated. I made an appointment with my gyn. but have also been doing research on my own and cannot seem to figure out the problem. I was thinking I could possibly have BV but I am not experiencing any itching or burning - does that symptom always occur with BV? It also doesn't hurt or burn to urinate but I feel as though I am urinating too often. Any ideas?

Hey!  I'm staying in Roatan, Honduras for 3 nights in September.  Someone recommended Bananarama, but that's $75 for a two person bedroom.  Is anyone going there September 11-13, and looking to share, or can anyone recommend another Roatan place to stay that's cheaper?
